Celebrate the 4th of July in Wake Forest, NC

Wake Forest, North Carolina is all set to host its exciting lineup of Independence Day festivities for 2023. The celebrations promise a blend of tradition, community spirit, and of course, fun for all ages. From the lively Children’s Parade to the breathtaking Fireworks Spectacular, Wake Forest is the place to be this 4th of July.

 

Fireworks Spectacular: Lighting Up the Sky

Presented by Capital Chevrolet, the Fireworks Spectacular is slated for Monday, July 3rd, at the Heritage High School. Gates open at 5:30 pm with the highly-anticipated fireworks show scheduled for approximately 9:30 pm.

Providing the evening’s entertainment is The Band of Oz, hitting the stage at 6:15 pm. Formed in 1967, this band has made a name for themselves, playing in top clubs, corporate parties, and beach concerts across the Southeast. Their eight-member group, complete with a full horn section, is bound to get you grooving.

For on-site spectators, feel free to bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the festivities from the Husky Stadium football field or one of the designated viewing areas on the Heritage High School campus. The home side stadium bleachers are also open for seating.

Expect a variety of food options to cater to your taste buds at the Fireworks Spectacular. Concessions include hamburgers, hot dogs, popcorn, and snow cones. Additionally, several food and dessert trucks will be on site for an even broader selection of treats. Families can bring picnic baskets or coolers, but please note that alcoholic beverages and glass containers are strictly prohibited.

As the Band of Oz keeps you entertained, and as the sun dips below the horizon, prepare yourself for a fireworks show like never before. With a promise of being ‘bigger and better than ever’, this spectacle is sure to light up your evening and leave a lasting memory of Independence Day 2023.

 

Children’s Parade: A Celebration of Youth

On Tuesday, July 4th, the town will spring to life with the annual Children’s Parade, a beloved tradition and the perfect way to kick start Independence Day celebrations. Starting at 10:00 am, the parade invites all area children to participate in a walking parade, whether on bicycles or in wagons – this parade is all about the kids!

The assembly will start at the intersection of North Main Street and West Juniper Avenue, close to the Wake Forest Historical Museum. The parade route will continue along North Main Street, concluding at the Wake Forest Community House. This is a free event and requires no prior registration, but remember safety first – helmets are a must for all young bicyclists!

Free parking is available at Holding Park, the Wake Forest Historical Museum, and several nearby side streets. Alternatively, you can park at the gravel lot at the intersection of South Avenue and South Main Street, generously provided by Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
