7 Fun April Events in Wake Forest
Here are seven fun events happening in Wake Forest in April that you won’t want to miss.
1. Easter Egg Hunt
On April 1st, 2023, a massive Easter egg hunt is happening at the E. Carroll Joyner Park. There will be tons of eggs hidden around the park for children of all ages to find, as well as special prizes for those who collect the most eggs. Activities such as face painting, crafts, and games will also be available throughout the day.
2. Wake Forest Food Truck Festival
If you are a foodie, then you won’t want to miss the Wake Forest Food Truck Festival that happens on April 8th. This festival will showcase some of the best and most unique food trucks in the area, with many vendors offering free samples.There will also be live music, entertainment, and various activities for the children.
3. Wake Forest Farmers’ Market
On April 15th, 2023, the Wake Forest Farmers’ Market will open for the spring/summer season. The farmers’ market will feature fresh produce, homemade baked goods, local honey, and much more. This is a great opportunity for kids to learn about healthy eating and where their food comes from.
4. Arbor Day Celebration
On April 22nd, the Arbor Day Celebration will take place at Flaherty Park. This event will celebrate the beauty of trees and educate the community on the importance of caring for them. There will be tree giveaways, seed planting activities, tree-climbing demonstrations, and many more.
5. Wake Forest Dirt Day
On April 29th, the town of Wake Forest will host its annual Dirt Day event at the Holding Park Athletic Complex. This event celebrates outdoor activities, nature, and sustainability. Attendees will get the chance to participate in over 30 hands-on activities, such as composting, gardening, and even a guided nature walk.
6. Storytime at the Library
Every Tuesday in April, the East Wake Public Library in Wake Forest will host storytime sessions. These sessions will include age appropriate stories, songs, and crafts, encouraging a love for reading and learning in children.
7. Family Movie Night
On the last Friday in April, the Wake Forest Parks, Recreation, and Cultural Resource Department will host an outdoor movie night at E. Carroll Joyner Park.
