“Good Things Come to Those Who Wait!”
This expression could not be more true for the residents of Wake Forest and the surrounding communities as they eagerly await the much anticipated reopening of the Wake Forest Community Library! This most recent renovation has taken almost a year and a half, but should prove to be well worth the wait. Since closing in September 2017, the library has grown significantly and is now almost double its original size, increasing from 5,000 sq. ft. to 9,000 sq. ft. The expanded library offers an impressive collection of 40,000 to 50,000 books, 16 public computers, and a variety of youth programs.
Originally opened in 1996, this is the second renovation that the library has undergone. Previously, in 2013, the library was closed for two months in order to make some minor changes and upgrades such as new paint, furnishings, and carpet.
Come see for yourself! Don’t miss the grand-reopening ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday February 24th at 2:00PM. The Wake Forest Community Library is located at 400 E. Holding Avenue in Wake Forest.
