🏡 2026 Triangle Parade of Homes
October 3–4, 9–11 & 16–18 | Throughout the Triangle
You knew I couldn’t leave this one off the list!
The Triangle Parade of Homes returns in October with hundreds of homes throughout Raleigh, Wake Forest, and the surrounding Triangle open for visitors to explore.
It’s free and open to the public, and it’s just as much fun for design lovers as it is for people considering a move. Tour new communities, discover builders, see new floor plans, and gather plenty of ideas for your own home.
The official Parade website currently lists more than 300 homes from over 100 builders, so I definitely recommend planning your route before heading out.

You can’t talk about October in Raleigh without talking about the State Fair.
For 11 days, the fairgrounds come alive with rides, games, live entertainment, agricultural exhibits, animals, competitions, vendors, and, of course, the annual quest to figure out what food someone managed to deep-fry this year.
Whether you’re there for the rides, the animals, the Village of Yesteryear, the giant vegetables, or simply an excuse to eat your way through the fairgrounds, it’s one of North Carolina’s biggest fall traditions.

🌳 Spend an October Day at Dix Park
You don’t necessarily need a festival to enjoy October in Raleigh.
Dorothea Dix Park has programming happening throughout the month, including yoga, Pilates, nature programs, bird watching, music, poetry, and other community events.
And once October temperatures arrive, it’s also simply a beautiful place to walk, grab coffee with a friend, or spend an afternoon outside.

Fall Saturday mornings and farmers markets just belong together.
The Wake Forest Farmers Market continues throughout October, giving you a chance to shop for local produce, baked goods, artisan products, and other locally made favorites before spending the rest of your morning exploring downtown.

🍁 This Is Why I Love October in the Triangle
There’s something about October that makes Raleigh and Wake Forest feel especially good.
Maybe it’s finally being able to sit outside without immediately searching for shade. Maybe it’s the festivals, football, pumpkins, and State Fair food. Or maybe it’s simply that this is the month when everyone seems ready to get outside and enjoy where we live.
Pick an event you’ve never attended. Tour a Parade home that catches your eye. Spend Saturday morning in Downtown Wake Forest. Take the kids to Boo Bash. Meet friends at the State Fair.
There’s a lot happening right outside our doors this month.
And that’s one of my favorite things about calling the Triangle home.
I’ll see you out there!
