Learn more about Make a Wish and how YOU can make a difference in someone’s life

Wishes are a big part of our lives. We make wishes for things like birthday presents, snow days, and even to find a parking spot close to the grocery store. But what about wishes that can change someone’s life? Make-A-Wish is a foundation that makes those types of wishes come true for children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. These brave kids often have their one wish granted, which helps them forget their diagnosis and focus on something positive. 

Next week, from November 8-13, we are sponsoring an outstanding movement called “Buy a Dish…Grant a Wish” which is hosted by Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina. 

From the website explaining Buy a Dish…Grant a Wish: “What started in 2020, has now become an annual tradition. Kevin Hudson & Jeff Donahoe – two local Board Members of our Eastern North Carolina Make-A-Wish chapter – would like to invite you to join local businesses and sponsors in helping to benefit deserving children and families battling critical illness.  Just as our community and businesses have worked hard to persevere through the challenges the past couple years has presented – Make-A-Wish has also worked hard to continue granting Wishes to so many deserving Wish Kids.” 

It furthers to say ““Buy a Dish…Grant a Wish” is a restaurant rally benefiting Make-A-Wish. It’s a rally for our local businesses who have given generously to our community for years, and for our chapter’s 400+ Wish kids waiting on their wishes to be granted. And…it’s a rally for you, our community, as a way to bring us out together. We’ve been distant, and now it’s time to rally socially (distant). What started in 2020 as four different restaurants for a great cause, has now grown to EIGHT awesome local establishments celebrating our community – for a good cause.”

Typically, we host our community-wide fall festival in October/November, but this year, I wanted to do something that would truly make a difference in someone’s life – a kid’s life. In partnering with Make-A-Wish Eastern North Carolina, we will be MATCHING each restaurant’s donations from the proceeds of their meals to this great cause.
