Know Before You Go: Fourth of July Celebration in Wake Forest

As North Carolina begins to open back up, our once annual Fourth of July celebration begins to return to the Wake Forest community! This year, the town of Wake Forest will be celebrating its 48th annual independence day celebration over a span of two days for free!

Kicking off the festivities on Saturday July 3rd is the Spectacular Fireworks show!  Located at Heritage High School at 1150 Forestville Road, you can experience this fun-filled event from starting at 7:30. Unlike past years, this year there will not be concessions or live entertainment. However, there will be a pre-recorded performance by the Band of Oz that will be live streamed via Facebook before the fireworks performance. People who are viewing the fireworks in person are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets to sit back and enjoy the sights of the fireworks inside the Husky stadium. Alcohol, pets, smoking, and glass are prohibited from the premises.

The festivities continue into Sunday, July 4th with the childrens parade! The lineup for the parade begins at 1:00 at the intersection of West Juniper Avenue and North Main Street and the parade will begin at 1:30. There is no registration needed! Simply decorate your child’s bike or wagon in festive colors and designs and show up to the lineup! The parade will end at 133 W. Owen Avenue.

Closing off our Independence Day weekend will be our Art in the Park event! Children are invited to the Wake Forest Community house from 2:00-4:00 on Sunday to channel their inner picasso and create a variety of arts and crafts.
