Summer is in full swing and Wake Forest’s most eagerly anticipated summer time event is right around the corner! Join us and celebrate Independence Day in beautiful Wake Forest, NC! This 2 day jammed-packed schedule begins Wednesday, July 3rd and rolls straight through to the afternoon of Thursday, July 4th! This event has entertainment for all, including live music, fireworks, arts & games in the park and even a children’s parade. Check out the fun activity lineup that the Town of Wake Forest has in store for you:

FIREWORKS SPECTACULAR
Wednesday, July 3rd at Heritage High School: 1150 Forestville Road – Gates will open at 5:30pm and admission is FREE! Sleeping Booty will headline the stage at 6:15PM. You don’t want to miss this incredible 12 instrument band who will perform popular hits from funk, rock and R&B to hip-hop, jazz and beach.

There will be a complimentary shuttle service beginning at 5pm from the following locations:

Smith Creek Soccer Center, 690 Heritage Lake Road
Hope Lutheran Church, 3525 Rogers Road
Heritage Middle School, 3400 Rogers Road
Heritage Elementary School, 3500 Rogers Road

Come hungry! There will be food and dessert trucks on hand including: Charlie’s Kabob, Brooklyn Boys Pizza, Soul Fresh Spring Rolls, Fuzzy’s Empanadas, Mr. Cheesesteak, The Wandering Moose, Bulkogi, BBQ Proper, Lumpy’s, Kona Ice, Jays Italian Ice, Sunshine Girls Lemonade, Frostbites and Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.

Remember to bring cash!! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and coolers / picnic baskets. Please note that alcoholic beverages, smoking, glass and pets are not allowed on the Heritage High School campus, and that all coolers and baskets will be inspected by the Wake Forest Police Department. Lawn chairs and blankets may be set up in designated areas, including on the football field, but not on the track. Bicycles are not permitted in the stadium.

Fireworks will happen at dusk and are promised to be “bigger and better than ever”!

CHILDREN’S PARADE
Thursday, July 4th at Wake Forest Community House: 133 West Own Ave, Wake Forest – Line up begins at 10am at the intersection of N. Main Street and W. Juniper Ave, Wake Forest. The parade will begin right at 10:30am. To cheer along these young patriotic community members, line up along North Main Street or along these roadways. (click to view map)
Those who would like to participate in the parade are invited to ride their bicycles, be pulled in a wagon or walk. All youngsters riding their bikes must wear a helmet – safety first!

ART & GAMES IN THE PARK
Tuesday, July 4th at Wake Forest Community House, 133 W. Owen Ave. – The fun starts at 11am sharp and admission is free!! Get crafty: free arts and crafts activities will take place inside the Community House, including the creation of various patriotic-themed crafts for all ages, cupcake decorating and more. Event ends at 1pm.
