Mardi Gras is coming!! Join this great event in Wake Forest on Saturday, March 2, 2019 @ 11AM – 3PM on South White Street in Downtown Wake Forest. This family-friendly event is so much fun for all ages. And as we all know, the more prepared you are for the event, the more fun you’ll have!

Get ready for exciting music, face painting, a walking parade (more on this below), entertainment and more! Many downtown merchants and event sponsors will offer discounts and numerous activities during the day and event. In addition, there will be many food trucks on hand.

For the walking parade, kids are invited to walk, roller skate, either ride their bicycles or they can be pulled along in a wagon. PLEASE NOTE that those who ride a bike MUST wear their helmets! SAFETY FIRST! Participation is free! Those who enter the parade are encouraged to be creative and decorate their bikes, wagons and themselves! Have fun with it!! According to the Wake Forest website, “Awards will be presented for “Best Decorated Vehicle (wagon, cart, bicycle or stroller),” “Best Baby,” and “Most Festive Family.” Judges will also select a “King & Queen” and “Prince & Princess” for the best costumes. The “King & Queen” and “Prince & Princess” costume contest winners will join our presenting sponsors to lead the walking parade.
