Spring is officially here which means we can stretch out our legs and get moving! Everyone loves being outdoors during the months of April and May due to the lovely weather and beautiful scenes nature has created for us to enjoy. Raleigh, Durham and its surrounding areas are EXCELLENT cities that offer a variety of outdoor events and activities that people of all ages and interests can enjoy. Below, I have compiled a list of some upcoming outdoor events that need to be on your calendar.

1 – Downtown Farmers Market

Located in Downtown Raleigh’s City Plaza, The Downtown Farmers Market produced by the Downtown Raleigh Alliance, brings the highest quality of locally sourced products and only the finest and freshest produce local growers and food artisans have to offer. 2 – Herbfest

This  is a free, family-friendly event that will take place come rain or shine in Wake Forest. Herbfest is the annual fundraiser for the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment, a non-profit organization that brings arts education and public art projects to local schools and our communities. Each year the event  features a variety of vendors appealing to those that are interested in hobbies such as gardening, cooking and a healthy lifestyle. Did I mention that Herbfest offers the largest selection of herbs to be found in one singular place?  Each year there is a featured herb and this year it is one of my absolute favorites… CILANTRO!  Each day there will be dishes highlighting the herb and even better, Herbfest promises to have the most abundant supply of Cilantro that they have ever had!

Herbfest dates are April 22-23-24 & April 29-30-May 1 Located @ 525 S. White Street in historic downtown Wake Forest
